I Think She's Saying Touchdown... Or Is She?
Planning a bachelor party around a sporting event can be surprisingly easy. It provides many of the things your guests will be looking for (i.e.: baves, alcohol, and grub...) and all in one rowdy, fun place.

PUNCH HIS TICKET

Ball Games, Concerts, And A Tailgater Stove

When looking for bachelor party ideas, you should always be thinking of the “O” factor in The B.O.D.Y. B.A.G. Method – as in  “Originality Counts.”  Is your bachelor a huge baseball fan?  Then, why not treat him to some really great seats at a ballgame for his favorite team?  Does he have a band that he would love to see in concert before he dies (or gets married – same difference)?  Well then, why not pile everybody into a limo and take him!  What I’m trying to say is -- you don’t have to pick the same old tired bachelor party activities.  Break out of the rut – and punch his ticket!

B.A.G. Unity.  As we all know from The B.O.D.Y B.A.G. Method, we’re constantly striving for unity of at least two sides of the B.A.G. (Babes, Alcohol, and Grub) triangle.  The great thing about ball games and concerts is that they easily fall within the realm of “A” and “G” unity.  Everywhere you look, there is food and alcohol aplenty.  At most ballparks, the amount of food and beer available to you is legion.  From hot dogs, to hamburgers, to popcorn, to peanuts… The list just goes on and on.  Also, not to be outdone, because most concert events are held in stadiums or sports arenas, it’s usually pretty easy to find the same type of food and drink items at the concession stands as you will find at the ballgames.

Now, what you may not realize is that there are plenty of “B”, or babes, to go around, as well.  Down on the field at the ballgame, there are plenty of gorgeous, scantily clad cheerleaders dancing around for your Doomed Groom’s enjoyment.  And, as for the concerts, there’s usually a wide array of blazing hot girls who have dressed up to the nines to enjoy the show – which translates to plenty of eye candy for everyone in your crew to enjoy.  And, voila!  B.A.G. unity has been achieved.

Get there early.  Arrive at least three to four hours early.  When it comes to sporting events or concerts, everyone knows that the party always starts with tailgating in the parking lot. The environment is always party-like and festive.  The beer flows like a river – and food just doesn’t taste any better than when it’s cooked on a hibachi sitting in the trunk of a Ford Fiesta.  So bring along a cooler full of steaks and get to grilling.  Here are some of my tips for Bachelor Party Tailgating:

    1. Keep it simple.  While you do want to make sure you have all the supplies and equipment you’re going to need to get the party rolling, you can’t just haul around your entire kitchen in the trunk of your car.  I always find that I come home missing an important utensil that was forgotten back in the parking lot.  That’s why I prefer taking a no-hassle, all-inclusive kit, instead. A tailgater stove that I recommend is the Buccaneer Tailgate Package.  It’s an affordable all-in-one cooler, utensil holder, and grill kit that’s all packed up in one easy-to-transport package. If you're a little more serious about cooking and don't mind a little more difficulty in clean-up, there’s also the Charbroil Thermos Grill2Go Advantage , that is a little bit more expensive, but is larger than The Buccaneer. And for those of you who take your tailgating way too seriously, there's the Freedom Grill Hitch Mounted BBQ Grill -- 16,000 BTU, Model FG50. It mounts to the back of any pickup truck, SUV or RV. You'll be the king of the parking lot when you whip this one out for everybody to see.
    2. As for keeping it uncomplicated, trust me... When the time comes for everyone to pack up and run for their seats, you’re going to appreciate how easy these guys are to clean up and go.  Also, I recommend using disposable containers whenever possible for food.  When you’re done, you can just throw them away and you won’t ahve to worry about re-packing them back into your gear.

    3.  B.Y.O.B.  Make sure you bring enough beer for your crew – and then some.  First off, we all know how expensive it is for beer inside of the stadium.  $7.00 for a beer is highway robbery -- and they stop selling after the sixth inning!  But that’s just one reason why you should make sure that you bring more than enough beer for the party.  Another reason is – due to the party atmosphere of the parking lot, there are people milling from car to car, mixing it up.  You want to be able to have enough beer to attract female fans (read: BABES) to join you and get the party heated up.  At Kegwoks.com, they have a great collection of keg coolers called “Jockey Boxesicon” that are made for easy beer dispensing from the back of your car or truck. They also have a great beer Super Cooler that is specifically made for being on the go.

    4. Gimme some room.  Always try to park at the end of a row or near some grass.  That will give you the optimal amount of space to lay out your gear and really spread out.  And make sure that you bring enough chairs for everybody to sit on.  At Fans Edge, they have a great collection of sports logo folding chairs that are perfect for tailgating.

    5. Schedule The Food.  Make sure that the food is ready at least an hour and a half prior to the  kickoff, tip off, or first pitch.  This will give you plenty of time for everybody to get enough to eat and still make it to their seats.

Buying tickets online.  There are plenty of ticket brokers online where you can find just about any sporting event or concert your bachelor would like to see.  The amount of sites to can actually be a little overwhelming, to say the least.  In order to alleviate a bit of the confusion, I’ve ranked several of my favorites below from best to worst in terms of things like ease of use, selection, and overall price.  Hopefully, it can help make the process a little bit simpler.

The Rankings:

1. TicketNetwork.com
2. StubHub.com
3. TicketLiquidator.com
4. EmpireTickets.com

1. TicketNetwork.com – My number #1 pick, this site has created proprietary software that aggregates tickets from literally thousands of ticket brokers in one single, easy-to-use place.  Their selection is expansive, to say the least.  As of this writing, there were almost 6,000,000 tickets available to over 80,000 separate events. They’ve also created this little event search widget that makes it insanely easy to find tickets for the game or concert you’re looking for:

Seriously, finding tickets has never been easier.  I highly recommend TicketNetwork.com.

2. StubHub.com – This is basically a clearance center for regular people and ticket brokers who want to get rid of their tickets.  Sellers post on the site which event they have tickets for and then set their own price for what they want to get for them.  They can also choose to set up an auction style format to sell them, as well.  The site then adds a 10% commission onto the ticket, along with a fee for the shipping and handling.

The downside?  Well, because the individuals selling the tickets set the prices, you might find widely varying prices for similar tickets in the same sections.  And the plus side?  For those of you who are procrastinators out there, deciding to wait until the last minute, StubHub.com also offers the convenience of “Last Minute Service Centers” where you can pick up the tickets right up to the time of the event – that is as long as you are in the following cities:  Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

3. TicketLiquidator.com – If you’ve already gone through all the regular channels for tickets and found them all sold out already, I recommend checking out TicketLiquidator.com.  This site specializes in selling tickets for sold out events and is made up of a collection of ticket brokers who pool together their inventory in order to provide a better selection and a wider array of choices.  Also, like TicketsNow.com, they also closely monitor the brokers to make sure that they comply with their stringent customer satisfaction standards.

4. EmpireTickets.com – If you absolutely, positively cannot find the tickets you are looking for on any other site, EmpireTickets.com would be your choice of last resort.  A ticket broker based out of Atlanta, GA, they specialize in premium seats for sporting, concert and theatrical events.  Don’t get me wrong…  If you want to see a concert or ballgame in style – and money is no object – this is the site for you.  They are going to have the absolute best seats in the house.  But for the guys on a budget, I recommend checking out the sites above, first.
